Paul MacInnes – BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy. MSST. Paul is a Coventry University graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy and is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST).

Paul’s Experience

He is also currently working part-time for Stevenage Football Club as the Academy’s Foundation Phase Sports Therapist. His other previous work experiences consist of Millwall Football Club, Coventry City Football Club, Bedworth United Football Club, Coventry University Sports Therapy Clinic, Coventry University Tennis Team and attendance at events such as the St. Albans 10k runs.

Contraindications to Sports Massage:

  • Body over 100oF – feeling unwell
  • Acute soft tissue inflammation
  • Open wounds
  • Bone and joint injury – fracture, dislocation
  • Diseased blood vessels – deep-vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins etc.
  • Infectious skin disease – bacterial, fungal, viral, lymphangitis, herpes
  • Cancer – tumours, melanoma
  • Bleeding disorders – haemophilia
  • Diabetes
  • Where massage treatment causes any adverse reactions
  • When present symptoms require advise from a doctor
