What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese medicine incorporates acupuncture, tui na massage, cupping, herbal, dietary and moxabustion therapies. It has been used for thousands of years to promote and encourage the body’s natural healing process. Acupuncture has been proven to stimulate the nervous system, releasing neurochemical messenger molecules which influence the body’s homeostatic mechanisms. It can be used to rebalance the body’s hormones, reduce pain and anxiety and induce relaxation.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective holistic way to treat many conditions and is especially useful as a natural alternative to treat women and their unborn child through every stage of their pregnancy. Some of the conditions treated by acupuncture are:

Anaemia – Anxiety and Depression – Breech and posterior positioned babies from 34 weeks –
Constipation – Fatigue – Heartburn – High blood pressure – Insomnia – Itching – Induction and labour – Musculoskeletal conditions – Nausea and vomiting – Oedema – Pubis Symphysis pain / Pelvic pain – Small for date babies
Special treatments, classes and tuition for:
• Relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety
• Pre-birth treatments – preparing the body for labour. From 36 weeks.
• Couples – Acupressure for pain relief during labour
• Postpartum recovery
• Weight loss
• Other group sessions are available.
