What is the lawful basis for processing the data?


To carry out medical tests we need to accurately identify you and will ask for relevant health related details, the lawful basis to record this data will be a legitimate interest to carry out a contract, and in some instances this will also be a legal requirement


Occasionally we send out details of future services and classes that might be useful to you, at the time of your appointment you are asked for your consent to this marketing, this will be by an opt in tick box on the registration form.  The data is only used once to send out details of pregnancy and baby related classes and services.  Your data will not be passed on to a third party for marketing purposes.

For marketing the lawful basis will be consent.  You can contact us at any time and withdraw your consent.

Will the data be shared with any third parties?

When necessary and of clinical relevance to your visit, data may be shared both ways with your GP or other medical clinic.

The lawful basis will be legitimate interest or legal requirement.  Electronic communication of medical data (reports sent by email) will be by using an encrypted email.

How will the information be used?

The data you supply is used for legitimate interest to carry out a contract of service.

Marketing: your data will be used marketing if you have given their permission to do so.  The purpose & frequency of the marketing is described on the registration form, you will be are asked to tick to opt in for the marketing.

Legal basis for using the data for this would be consent.

How long will the data be stored for, and what are the criteria used to determine this timeframe?

The legal requirements for the storage of medical records related to maternity is 25 years, all other records will be saved for 10 years.

How we use cookies
