Occupational Therapy – Hemispheres

At Hemispheres we have a dedicated team of Occupational Therapists with the specialist knowledge and skills needed to help your child overcome obstacles to their learning and unlock their true potential.

Our approach is unique. At Hemispheres we use a neurological framework built on hard science and research Shelley Birkett – Eyles, the Director of Hemispheres, has successfully developed the Hemispheres Neurological Assessment™ and the Hemispheres Movement Programme™.

For your child to function well in areas like their learning, physical, sensory, social and emotional skills the brain and body need to develop and work together in a seamless way. Any “blocks” will lead to difficulties and delays.

The Hemispheres Neurological Assessment™ can identify these blocks. The Hemispheres Movement Programme™ applies innovative but simple movement patterns to release these blocks and enable the brain and body to work together in union. Skills are developed and your child’s potential is unleashed.

We are proud to offer a variety of services to meet the specific needs of your child, from the identification of potential reasons for the difficulties to the delivery of individualised programme of movements. We have an excellent history of success with all types of difficulties including:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Aspergers
  • Autism
  • Severe and moderate learning disabilities
  • ADD
  • ADHD
  • Delayed speech and motor development
  • Information processing
  • Handwriting
  • Reading
  • Congenital and other neurological abnormalities

If your child has difficulties in any of the above areas then The Hemispheres Neurological Assessment™ and Hemispheres Movement Programme™ could be right for you.
