Nutrition Our Nutritional therapist Victoria Webb-Hockfield is licensed to practice nutritional therapy from the well-known Institute for Optimum Nutrition, (ION). Victoria holds Masters degrees in both Nutrition and Health Education/Health Promotion, in addition to her Bachelors degree in Human Biology with Psychology. She is registered with the British Association of Nutritional Therapists, (BANT). What is Nutritional Therapy? Good nutrition is one of the cornerstones of a healthy lifestyle. Yet with a bewildering array of supplements, fad diets and media hype it can be difficult to know whether you are eating for optimal health. This is where personalized nutritional advice can help. A nutrition consultant looks not only at what you eat, but at how well you absorb your food and factors affecting your nutrient requirements. Problems that can be helped by Nutritional Therapy A nutritional therapist can advise on more than just weight loss. Proper diet and supplementation may relieve symptoms of many health conditions including: • PMS • Menopausal symptoms • Digestive problems • Fatigue • Unexplained infertility • Skin Complaints Additionally, a nutritional therapist can recommend and organize testing for food intolerances, hormone imbalances and nutritional deficiencies if appropriate. Your first appointment Prior to your first consultation you will be sent a lifestyle questionnaire to complete and return. This allows Victoria to familiarize herself with your medical history and individual requirements. The duration of your initial consultation will be approximately one hour at the end of which you will come away with a personalized nutritional strategy, as well as suggestions for nutritional supplements if required. Follow up appointments It is recommended that you attend a follow-up consultation approximately 6 weeks later to assess your progress and to refine your program. Usually 3 consultations in total are sufficient to address your significant health concerns although obviously this can vary from person to person
